SCHOOL VISITS
Regardless of the age group, Cheryl’s goal is to engender a love of reading, story-telling, and fun. She’s happy to tailor her visits to specific requests.
Pre-K – 3
Whether she offers a story-time reading of DARIO AND THE WHALE, ELEPHANTS WALK TOGETHER (Pre-K and K), FEATHERITA (Pre-K), or an interactive discussion/workshop on how to turn real life events into stories (Grades 1 – 3), her focus is on engaging students and creating enthusiasm for reading.
Grades 4 – 6
Using DARIO AND THE WHALE and ELEPHANTS WALK TOGETHER, Cheryl offers presentations on honing writing and story-telling skills, understanding the elements of poetry, and exploring our natural world (whales, elephants, and space). All of her sessions are geared toward Common Core standards and include exercises and worksheets designed to help students delve deeper into each subject. Plus, her presentations are fun, interactive, and include writing exercises where age-appropriate.
Middle School and High School
Cheryl’s goal is to create enthusiasm for the creative and technical aspects of fiction writing, essay writing, public speaking, and literature.
NON-ACADEMIC VISITS
As a professional woman with a number of successful careers, Cheryl loves talking about writing, creativity, coaching, career changes, life balance, and pursuing your passion.
